The costs of food has been a continuous struggle for many within our community. We have been able to acquire half an acre of land and as from the beginning of 2024, we are growing potatoes, cabbage and corn, to provide for our own food. Over production is shared within the commuity and sold on the market.

Challenges:

Climate: Hot weather and water shortages can make it challenging to grow crops.
Manpower: A lack of manpower can make it difficult to cultivate and harvest crops.
Tools: A lack of tools and equipment can make it challenging to prepare the land for cultivation.

Solutions:

Water shortages: Installing a drip irrigation system and implementing a water conservation plan.
Manpower: Recruiting volunteers and providing training and resources.
Tools: Seeking investment funds to purchase necessary tools and equipment.
